N.I. Childrens Fund for Cancer

President Roy Crawford presenting a cheque for £1,000 to Mr Willie Prescott

Following up from an earlier visit, Natasha Walsh Fund Raising Officer visited the club to collect a cheque for £500 raised by Past President Kenny's sponsorship collection at the Enniskillen 10K, along with funds which were allocated to the Club by Rotarian Andrew Wilson following his birthday party. This amount brought the total to £1,000 being handed over to the Fund. Natasha outlined the work of the Charity, at present they have a respite centre at Shimna Valley and are now in the process of raising funds for a new centre Daisy Lodge which is due to open in January 2014 at a cost of £3 million. The Charity provides respite for families who have a child suffering from cancer, provide a listening ear for parents who have just had a child diagnosed, they also have a road miles scheme which helps less well off families with travel costs, and a Young Shoulders scheme which takes family members out on trips, meals, etc.
