President Angela and Guests

After two years of absence, the Rotary President's Ball returned to the Killyhevlin Hotel on the 4th of March 2023, where some 200 Rotarians and guests enjoyed hospitality and entertainment in the Lisgoole Suite.

Old traditions were revived, like the line-up of Rotary dignitaries. Headed by President Angela McKinney and her two predecessors, Immediate Past President Catherine Robinson and Past President Heather Ellis, who followed the piper into the Lisgoole Suite and enjoyed " a wee dram" with him before taking their places at the top table.

President elect, Ken Rainey expertly directed the evening as master of ceremonies.

Among the guests were friends and family and many representatives of organisations and businesses that have supported Rotary in the past or have benefitted from Rotary's support. One of these organisations was the Children's Service of Fermanagh Women's Aid, who were the recipient of this year's Rotary District Grant of £3,300.-. Kerrie Flood, the Development Manager of Fermanagh Women's Aid, thanked the Rotary Club of Enniskillen. She briefly outlined how the money was used to help them support children affected by Domestic Abuse in their own families. Using the story "We're Going on a Bear Hunt", she gave us a taste of how frightening it is to "live with the bear".

The Killyhevlin staff surpassed themselves yet again with excellent service and delicious food. This was followed by addresses by District Governor Sean Fitzgerald and President Angela McKinney. A short raffle followed, and entertainment was provided by the band "Addiction". The dance floor was soon filled with dancers young and old.

A great evening of joy and entertainment was had by all, President Angela departed at approximately 1:30am, however some people were rumoured to still be at the bar at 3am.

President Angela wishes to thank everybody involved in the planning, organisation, running and supporting of this event. The ball raised a profit of £4,000.- which was split in equal parts supporting Fermanagh Women's Aid and The Rotary Foundation.
