First Bike Delivery

Pictured are 3 trailer loads of bicycles, (80 bicycles in total), arriving at Loughan House being delivered by Rotarians; John Trimble, George Wilson & Ernie Chambers, on Tuesday 14th January 2014.

The bicycles will be repaired by the inmates, before being sent over to the Jole Rider centre in Tewkesbury, for onward shipment to The Gambia. When the bicycles are received in Africa they are distributed to secondary school students to enable them to get to school easier than having to walk the long distances there and back every day.

This is Enniskillen Rotary Club’s first delivery of bicycles and will be part of their ongoing project this year to gather up and deliver at least 250 bikes to the prison for refurbishment.
