Elaine Bannon with Sophi, Seki and Ciara
At today’s Rotary Meeting, Elaine Bannon from the Rhombi region of Kenya visited the Club to give an update on the ‘Sand dams’ water Project which the Enniskillen Club was heavily involved in 4 years ago. She reported that about 50,000 Maasai people are now benefiting from the project which ensures clean water readily accessible without them having to walk many miles to fetch it. The provision of clean water gave the entire community a freedom, free from waterborne deserves. Elaine was accompanied by 3 girls from the village, Clara, Sophi and Seki, along with David Sands who works along with her on the project.
